JUADN Executive Board unanimously decided to proclaim a strike of all journalists working in ERT starting midnight Thursday 29^th June until midnight Friday 30^th June 2006.

 

The strike demands all journalists working in ERT who are employed under short term contracts expiring on 30 June 2006, will continue to be employed. 

 

The Executive Board underlines that the Union well before the issuance of Presidential Degree 164/2004, had always stated that these short term contracts in reality fulfill operational needs thus being labour contracts covering long term and solid employment requirements. Moreover, in practice short term contracts contribute to labour insecurity, encouraging patronizing relationships.
